As a writer, I relish delivering exceptional career marketing materials that buoy my clients’ confidence and achieve great results in the rough seas of today’s job market. My written work primarily includes resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, and bios.
When people work with me on their materials, I hear things like:
… Haven’t updated my resume in 10 years…
… Never needed a resume to get a job before…
… After so many years in the workforce, resume is now 4 pages…
… Keep applying for jobs, but never get called for an interview…
… Resume doesn’t really show what I’m capable of…
… The format is so plain…
… Not confident that my materials are in synch with today’s standards…
… Don’t want to “toot my own horn”…
Through extensive training, continuing education, and hands-on experience with hundreds of clients—at the executive, manager, and individual contributor levels—I know how to craft “career marketing” documents that sell your accomplishments and capabilities, reflect your unique brand and character, and capture your readers’ attention. I understand the expectations of today’s market when it comes to these materials. I can also help you get past the technological screening (aka applicant tracking) systems that can be a “black hole” for even the most qualified applicants.
I’ve noticed for years that my clients often feel that they should write their own resumes and other documents, especially if they have strong writing skills. The problem is that career materials involve a very particular kind of writing for a very specific purpose in a market with unique constraints. Few people have the time or expertise to create materials that will meet today’s expectations and get optimal results. That’s where I come in!
Please note that my work will be tailored specifically to your situation and goals. I don’t use templates or boilerplate formats, nor do I subcontract work to another writer. If for some reason we determine that I’m not the right person for you, I will refer you to another highly qualified professional—someone whose work I know and trust.
